Teresa Hsu-Walklet, PhD

Teresa Hsu-Walklet, PhD, is an Assistant Director for the Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) at Montefiore Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her focus is on increasing access to care and decreasing barriers to treatment for marginalized populations, and she delivers evidence-based psychotherapy with children and families to address challenges including anxiety and mood disorders, behavioral issues, trauma, and parent-child relationship problems, with consideration to psychosocial and race-related issues. Dr. Hsu-Walklet attended Northwestern University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then received her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University in 2011. Dr. Hsu-Walklet completed an internship in Psychology at Kings County Hospital Center, followed by a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at New York University in the Department of Cariology and Comprehensive Care. Dr. Hsu-Walklet’s research focuses on collaborative care in a primary care setting, systemic (family, neighborhood, cultural) understanding of child and adolescent mental health, prevention, and population health. Her work has been presented nationally and published in reviewed journals.
